About the Project:

Pilkington plc is one of the world’s leading glass manufacturers and produces a variety of types of glass across their sites.

This includes automotive glass, glass for the double glazing/ construction industries and the revolutionary self- cleaning glass now being used extensively across the world.

The glass is manufactured across 5 sites in St Helens, Merseyside, whilst they operate a Research and Development Facility at Lathom in Lancashire.

Project Challenges:

GPT took over the management of the Project in May 2011 and now operate on all 6 sites.

A Trade Waste service is operated on all the sites, whilst the larger manufacturing plants also use Roll on Off Containers for Cardboard/ Paper etc.

GPT Waste also manages other more specific waste streams, including bi- products of the glass manufacturing processes.
